Shoes

Nottingham

Some trips out are just that - trips as opposed to actual photo assignments.

The X-E1 (+ pancake) seems to be the one I grab when I'm going somewhere not intending to actually take photographs. It's so compact and easy to use and with care will outperform any camera phone.

I spotted this arrangement of shoes outside a cobblers in Nottingham. The colours really spoke to me.
The angle gives an interesting composition with the lens almost wide open to deliberately emphasise the green suede boots with their contrasting orange laces. Depth of field at f/2.8 isn't particularly shallow with the APSC sensor but I think this worked as it provides context. The 27mm Pancake is fortunately pin sharp even in the corners - again it's that brilliant Fuji glass!
